- I have installed cloud ready on an old hp elitebook and everything went perfectly. Very happy with the results. So I tried to do the same on a friends macbook pro 2007. Model number A1226. Think it's a 3.1 with core 2 duo processor and 2gbp ram.
- If you don’t have a Windows 7 or newer computer, download the 64-bit CloudReady image below to your Downloads folder (not to the USB stick) and then click the appropriate OS link below for instructions on how to manually create a USB installer.
- The advantage of CloudReady, in comparison to Chrome OS, is that you can install it on a wide variety of hardware. If you have an old Windows laptop or MacBook that has slowed down over time, you may be able to turn it into a very close approximation of a Chromebook by installing CloudReady.
- Dual booting might work if you install CloudReady first, shrink down its main partition, and then figure out how to install the Mac OS back into the freed up space. You might want to contact u/RedskinWashingtons to see if he ever got dual booting to work.
